Our Programs

At Salem's Sanctuary, our philosophy is rooted in the belief that every cat, regardless of their socialization or perceived value, deserves to live a healthy, peaceful, and protected life.

Salem’s Sanctuary Veterinary Hospital

Our nonprofit low-cost veterinary hospital will serve cats and dogs with accessible care, including wellness and sick visits, vaccines, testing, spay/neuter, dental care, and select soft tissue surgeries. It also strengthens the medical care we can provide to the rescue and community cats who need us, acting as a foundation for many of our other programs.

Community Cat TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)

Through trap-neuter-return (TNR), we humanely trap community cats, provide spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations, and return them to the outdoor homes they know. TNR prevents future litters while helping caretakers build healthier, more stable colonies.

Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics for Owned Cats

Affordable spay/neuter care helps families protect the cats they love. Additional services, such as vaccines, FIV/FeLV testing, and microchipping, may be available to support each cat’s long-term health and safety.

Vaccine Clinics

Our low-cost vaccine clinics make routine preventive care more accessible for cats and dogs. By helping families keep their pets’ vaccinations up to date, we protect individual pets and support a healthier community.

Community Cat Wellness

Caring for a colony takes more than spay/neuter. We help caretakers access resources such as flea prevention and winter shelters so outdoor cats can stay as healthy and protected as possible.

Community Cat Emergency Care

A treatable condition shouldn’t mean a community cat has to live in pain. Donations to this program help cover urgent care and procedures such as limb amputations, entropion repair, and dental extractions for homeless cats in need.

Adoption

When we meet friendly cats through our rescue and TNR work, we help them find loving homes. Through our adoption partners and events, we give these cats a path from life outdoors to a family of their own.
